Schwan’s Ice Cream Parlor

What’s a trip without a stop for ice cream? It may be cold in Minnesota, but when you take a trip through Lyon County’s history, the stop that’s 100% necessary to make is at the Schwan’s Ice Cream Parlor. This ice cream shop is tucked inside the Lyon County Museum and serves a variety of flavors of Schwan’s ice cream. Experience the past while you sit and enjoy your sweet treat in the black and white tiled parlor, and then take a walk around the museum exhibits to see what Marshall and the surrounding areas used to be and learn how it has changed over the years.

The museum is housed in the old library building, right at the corner of 3rd Street and West Lyon Street. It is free to enter, so bring along your family and enjoy the three floors of exhibit galleries. If you’re a planner, check out the museum’s events calendar, where they list events for all ages.
