The Southwest Minnesota Orchestra (SMO) has been in existence for more than 40 years. Our mission has always been to provide the people of Southwest Minnesota an opportunity to hear and enjoy a wide variety of live symphonic music. The SMO is a regional ensemble made up of area community members, high school students, and SMSU students & faculty. The orchestra is directed by Dr. Daniel Rieppel.
Each year, the Marshall Area Fine Arts Council host a concert series with four concerts that take place during the year. Concert Series tickets are available for purchase by stopping in at Marshall Area Fine Arts Council, 109 N 3rd Street, Downtown Marshall. They also host live music throughout the summer every Wednesday night at the Bandshell.
