Go Fishing for Trout in the Redwood River

Before hitting the river, rent a fishing kit from the main office. It includes a rod, reel, and a fully stocked tackle box or use your own poles and bait. Learn more about fishing in southwest Minnesota.

Take a dip in the Swimming Pond

Built in 1935 the spring-fed pool has a beautiful sand beach that is perfect to set up a picnic. Take a dip after a long hike, or feel like a kid again playing in the sand and water with the family.

Mountain bike Trails

Hop on your bike to pedal through over 4.25 miles of trails through Camden State Park. You can take in the natural landscape of southwest Minnesota at your own pace and through your own lens. You can also take the paved trail from Camden State Park to nearby Marshall, MN.

Hike 15 miles of trails

From creek-following trails, to prairie field paths and river overlooks — there is a trail for any level of hiker. These trails are perfect for hiking, jogging, or walking; experiencing the firsthand wonder of the natural world for yourselves. Find hiking trails.

Geocache in Camden State Park

Geocaching is a scavenger hunt organized and administrated from the web, but it’s one of the best ways get in touch with nature. It’s a blast for people of all ages because it combines the excitement of treasure hunting with the knowledge and primordial roots of the natural world. Camden Park is proud to offer several geocaching routes that you can check out before you start your journey.

If you’ve never experienced the beauty of a natural world night sky, you have no idea what you’re missing. You can pick up a set of Night Sky Kits and wait for the sun to go down; take out your kit and see what you can observe in the night sky. These are absolutely free and will amaze any children who have never experienced a night away from the city before.
