The event season was a memorable one. But I'll be honest, it felt like a bit of a roller coaster, not everything was sunshine and rainbows; overall the events went off without a hitch. But we did see a drop in our numbers from 2023 to 2024. With that, we have made the difficult decision to not continue the Prairie Jam concert. That doesn't mean music is out, we still have some AMAZING musical events in town, including Sounds of Summer, Arts & Living History Festival, Lyon County Fair, Light up the Night Kick off Night & Thursdays on Third to name a few.
Saying Good-Bye to 2024 and CHEERS to 2025! But before we move on, we want to reflect on how fantastic 2024 was. We sure Cultivated the Best of this year!
The 2024 goals set by the Visit Marshall Board & employees were well met. Booking new business travel, promoting Marshall to regional and nation wide sports groups, worked with our local hunters to help with hunting promotions & the possibility of a wild game cleaning station for 2026, as well as growing our relationships with our industry partners.
Visit Marshall was proud to introduce the Community Tourism Support Grant in 2021. And this year, hit another record number of funding / investments of $100,000! With those grantees being 56 local organizations, sports, events or activities all bringing visitors to Marshall.
We also collaborated with a local photographer to get some new photos of Marshall spots.
