As the summer nears its end, you can still hear the sweet sounds... of children playing, music bumping, and friends laughing! Come join in the fun at Sounds of Summer!
The celebration kicks-off on Thursday August 19th. Stroll the luminaria walk from 5-9pm while listening to live music by Broken Oak, or test your knowledge with Traveling Trivia while tasting the Chili Cook-off!
Friday brings morning yoga on the Library lawn and tours of the new Southview Elementary from 12-3pm. End the night at the Liberty Park Bandshell, laughing to the Marshall Area Stage Company's variety show at 7pm!
Saturday is filled with activities and events for the whole family! From the Farmers Market and Rotary pancake breakfast in the morning to the Tiger 5000 5k Race or 6x6 Co-Rec Volleyball & Bean Bag tournaments at the Gym for those competition seekers. Browse the Craft & Vendor show or the Show n' Shine Car Show! And prepare the kiddos to catch tons of candy at the Grand Festival Parade at 4pm.
End the night downtown in the Whitney Parking lot (located on the west, back side of downtown businesses). Inflatables & train rides for the kids will be set-up along with the Little Peddlers Miniature Tractor Pull! Plan to eat at one of the 10 different food vendors set-up! And end the night with an ice cold beer while listening to rocking music by Roxbury Drive & Nasty Habit!
