Hiking & Biking Trails at Camden State Park

You can also bicycle your way through Camden State Park. There is also a bike-share program, which enables you to rent a bike in Marshall, use the Camden Regional Bike trail to bike to Camden and back, then return bikes at no charge! This option allows Camden State Park visitors to bike without the hassle of buying a bicycle. Bike locks and helmets are also available for your convenience.

Summer Activities at Camden State Park

If you are visiting Camden State Park in the summer season, there is a variety of activities that will suit anyone! Try the Watercraft Rentals at Brawner Lake. Life jackets and paddles are included in rental fee. Stop in at the Ranger Station at the main park entrance for rentals.

  • Canoes (aluminum, two seats) $15 per half day $25 per full day
  • Kayaks (enclosed, single seat) $15 per half day $25 per full day
  • Paddle boats (seats up to four, two sets of pedals, awning cover) $10 per hour
  • Paddle boards (sturdy plastic paddle boards, designed for one user) $10 per hour

Go fishing!

Go fishing for trout. In the Redwood River, trout abound and are ready to be caught. No fishing pole or bait? Grab a fishing kit from the park office! Kits are free to use and include a rod, reel, and tackle box.

Go bird watching!

There are a variety of birds in Camden State Park. Take time to acquaint yourself with them, go birding! Birding Kits are free to use at the park office and include binoculars, bird books, and a bird checklist.

Try Geocaching!

Geocaching is an online scavenger hunt that's fun for all ages. See what treasures you can find along our fun, new geocaching routes! GPS units for geocaching are free to check out at the park office!

Discover Wildlife!

Try one or more of the Kids Discovery Kits! Choose from Wildlife by Water, Camping Skills, and Around the Campfire themes. They are free to check out at the park office and fun for the whole family!

Enjoy Swimming!

Swim in the Camden State Park Swimming Pond. This pond has a gorgeous sand beach with refreshing spring-fed cool water. Bring the swimsuits and sand toys! Set up a picnic and enjoy your day!

Go Stargazing!

Try out the Night Sky Kits. These fun, educational kits include star-watching guides and a stellar score. They are free to check out at the park office and fun for the whole family!

Camden State Park Accessibility

The Action Track Chair is available to anyone that needs it free of charge! It's a great way for people of all abilities to enjoy park trails. Call the park office at 507-872-7031 to make a reservation.

Winter Activities at Camden State Park

If you are visiting Camden State Park in the winter season, there are still plenty of things to do in the cooler weather! Find a few of the most popular activities below, and explore on  your own when you visit the park. You may even find some hidden gems!

Don't have your own equipment? No problem! We rent snowshoes. Check with the park office for availability.

Strap on the snowshoes!

The park offers snowshoe rentals, enabling you to hike around the park in specialized, outdoor foot gear. There are different trails available for cross-country skiing as well.

Discover 8 miles of snowmobile trails!

There are nearly eight miles of un-groomed snowmobile trails throughout the park. A true winter wonderland for sledders! Take your snowmobile on these trails and enjoy your favorite winter pastime.

Lodging & Camping at Camden State Park

After a fun-filled day in Camden State Park, there are plenty of options for you to rest. If you are a fan of camping, you can make Camden State Park camping reservations here. There are over 80 drive-in sites, with 47 of them offering electricity and two group campgrounds.

The Redwood Lodge was originally the park custodian's cabin and has recently been renovated into a guesthouse available for nightly rentals. It has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a furnished kitchen. It sleeps up to 8 people, is open year-round, and costs $245 per night. Check availability here.

Visitors can also rent shelter spaces for events like birthdays, family reunions, and weddings. The north picnic shelter is available for $60 per day.
