DESCRIPTION:The Marshall-Lyon County Library will be hosting a children’s costume swap on Saturday\, October 5th from 10 am to 2 pm. \nBring your old costumes and trade them for something new-to-you\, or just pick up a costume for your kiddo\, no cost! \nWe will begin accepting costume donations on Monday September 9th. We will accept costumes for children of all ages and sizes at the Marshall Library location until October 4th. \nAll costumes and accessories should be clean and in good condition. Wigs and footwear should be clean and lightly worn. Unopened used costume makeup is also welcome. \nCostumes may be tried on over clothing or in the family restroom. \nAny costume not claimed during the event will be saved for another year’s event or donated to a local thrift shop.

Meet in the Ball Field Shelter area. \nMake the stars your old friends as we watch the great celestial show in the skies over Southwestern Minnesota. Get to know constellations like The Big Bear\, Cygnus the Swan\, Pegasus the Winged Horse\, and others. Great constellation mythological stories will also be featured! We’ll have giant telescopes aimed at the moon\, Saturn\, star clusters\, galaxies\, and more. An astronomical camera system will also capture breathtaking images! \nMike Lynch is a retired WCCO meteorologist and has been hosting Minnesota and Wisconsin Starwatch programs for over 50 years! He also writes a weekly stargazing column for the St. Paul Pioneer Press and is the author of the book “Stars\, a Month-by-Month Tour of the Constellations.” \nIn the event of poor or cloudy weather\, this event will move to the Marshall Library community room. \nThis event is free and open to the public.
