DESCRIPTION:Learn how to needle felt from a local expert! \nSuzanne Fairchild will share the story of wool\, from sheep to shearing to preparing the wool\, then showing attendees how to felt the wool into a figure. The wool she brings is from her own sheep. Attendees will get an idea of the history of the craft\, learning more about the wool industry\, understanding of the structure of wool and what products different grades of wool can make\, and of course\, learning how to needle felt! \nThis class is free\, but space is limited and registration is required. Due to the sharp instruments required\, you must be at least 16 to attend. Please contact the Marshall Library (507-537-7003\, library@marshalllyonlibrary.org) to register.

SUMMARY:Marshall Municipal Band June 12th Concert
DESCRIPTION:Come out to the Liberty Park band shell on June 12th for a celebration of Life-Long Music-Making. The Marshall Municipal Band is proud to sponsor this popular event started last year. The evening starts at 5:30 p.m. with a performance of the Boulder Estates Choir\, followed by performances by the children of the SMSU Day Care\, the SMSU Children’s Theatre cast of “The Lion King”\, a group of vocalists from the Prairie Arts Chorale\, and finally a preview of the Marshall Area Stage Company’s production of “The School of Rock”. The evening concludes with the weekly performance of the Marshall Municipal Band at 7:00 p.m. \nFood will be available from Momma Maria’s Rolling Taco Kitchen and also from Scotty Biggs BBQ. So come out to the park with family and friends\, and make an evening of it.
